Céad Míle Fáilte
More than 100,000 welcomes will be offered at our new facility. We’ll also have a meeting room, lecture hall, dance studio, musical venue and a genealogy research library, as well as exhibit space and public house amenities. This will be the structure of the Irish Cultural Center Hudson Valley. But the heart of our facility will be that it’s a place to gather, to learn, a site where people of all ages can actively celebrate all things Irish.
The Center will be located on Abeel Street in Kingston’s Rondout District. It is quickly coming to fruition. In 2011 we envisioned a dream. In 2012 we obtained our non-profit 501(C)3 status and in January, 2013 we purchased the parcel. Additional fundraising and construction plans are well under way, with the goal of completed construction by 2015.
This site is a critical location for the Irish in the Hudson Valley. It was once dubbed “Little Dublin” because our ancestors tirelessly labored here while building the country’s canals as well as communities based on faith and family.
This opportunity to move forward, to embrace our colorful heritage and build the Irish Cultural Center Hudson Valley, is not just an undertaking to benefit us, but also our descendants. It’s a rare opportunity to leave a legacy. Please join us as we move forward.
This building will be our foundation; history will be our passion; the future will be our celebration.
